Quinceañera Countdown Checklist

12+ Months Before

  • Set a budget for you event
  • Book church in Dallas or Fort Worth whichever suits you and your guests
  • Reserve ballroom or banquet hall for quinceanera parties
  • Negotiate group rates at a hotel if you will have out of town guests
  • Work with mom and dad to choose your padrinos

12-9 Months Before

9-6 Months Before

Set testing for a Quinceañera cake and place the order
Start rehearsing dance with damas & chambelanes
Book photographer and videographer
Select and order flower decorations
Select and order the dresses for your damas
Finalize menu with Catering company

6-3 Months Before

Reserve tables, chairs, linens from event rental company
Design or make decorations. place order for decorations
Choose transportation (lomousine, party bus)
Place the order for the tuxedos of the chambelanes
Order your jewelry, crown, doll, guest book, etc
Set appointment for hair & makeup
Start confirming RSVP

3-1 Month Before

Make appointment for the quince portrait
Put together list of songs for DJ or band
Have your final dress fitting
Meet with priest of minister to finalize service details
Finalize guest list for final food & beverage count
Make sure everything is in place with the venue

4-2 Weeks Before

Finalize seating plan at the ballroom
Finalize & practice quince dance with your cadets
Confirm delivery or pickup of:
Religious ceremony items (rosary, cross, ring, ring pillow, bible, etc.)
Make final payments to all vendors
Finish getting favors/centerpieces
Purchase small gifts for all padrinos, damas, & chambelanes as a small thank-you
Do any haircut or dyeing with plenty of time

A Week Before

Purchase anything left remaining
Finish any additional DIY details
Get manicure and pedicure done
Get waxing/threading done
Go over checklist & make sure everything is in place

The Day Of

Prepare a small bag for emergencies
Small sewing kit
Touch-up makeup
Sanitary items (you never know!)
A pair of flats or cute sandals
Mini first-aid kit
